7/17/18 - It may be hot outside but Shasta Lake Trout are on the bite.

The Trout have been between 2 and 8 pounds, but the are some real hogs out there. These Trout are just full of shad and getting fatter everyday. If you decide to keep some of these Trout they are wonderful eating, they taste very much like salmon.

Trolling around and through the giant bait balls with the #4 Optimizer has been a great way to hook up these pig Trout. (Trinidad Tackle  company - #4 Optimizer at 3.8mph).

The bite has been best early in morning but fish can be caught during the heat of day as well. I have been catching these fish between 40 and 100 feet deep. Don't let heat scare you away from fishing,  Shasta Lake is one of the unique fisheries in northern California that produces big hungry Trout during the summer months.

Videos from yesterday's trip

Give me a call to hook up on these awesome fish 530 905 0758, or you can simply book Online it is that easy.
