The Scaramento River is teeming with salmon, trout, and steelhead.  We've been fishing every day and now that the tail end of the fall run is upon us, we're starting to look at the fish that benefit the most from our annual salmon spawning season, and thets the steelhead and trout.  The river is full of salmon from Red Bluff all the way into downtown Redding and right behind them are the egg eaters.  We ran both trout and salmon trips today and found some action on both venues.  Justin fished the Redding to Anderson drift for rainbow trout and I fished a short family trip late this morning.  Both trips were productive and provided for a great day on the water.  The flows from Keswick Dam are among the most random I've ever seen and the river flows are dropping and increasing with reckless abandon.  Whoever is controlling releases from Sacramento must be working hard, because flows are changing nearly every hour of the day for days on end.  It makes zero sense to me, but not much does anymore anyway.  Oh well, all we can do is go out and fish, have fun doing so, and hope for the best every day.
