Barge Hole opener on the Sacramento River looms

The Sacramento River continues to fish for fresh king salmon from Red Bluff, California downriver to Colusa California.  Hard working guides back bouncing sardine wrapped "old style" kwikfish are finding success when using the right sized and right colored plugs this month.  The upper section of Sacramento River above the Red Bluff Diversion Dam will open to king salmon fishing officially one hour before sunrise on Sarturday August 1st.  The Hatchery Hole or "Barge Hole" is loaded with salmon right now and salmon fishermen are already setting up camps tonight to claim their best starting spot.

We have drifted through the "Barge Hole" a third time now and our electronics show an amazing number of king salmon loaded up in that hole.  At first light Saturday morning it shouldn't be long before the shouts of "Fish On" are heard for hundreds of yards.

Dave Jacobs Professional Guide Service is offering fully guided king salmon trips for both large and small groups on the Sacrament River.  We are proud to be one of the few guide services that offer small two, three and four person private guided salmon charters.  We do not mix groups so when you book a salmon trip with Dave Jacobs Professional Guide Service you will gauranteed to have the boat to yourself with your family and friends.  We gaurantee to not cram you in a large "cattle style" guided trip with a bunch of strangers.  Your comfort and salmon fishing experience on both the Sacramento and Feather Rivers is our top priority.  We have structured price packages for all sized groups with deep discounts for large groups that fill our jet boats.

Peak salmon season is just around the corner, so if catching your own large Sacramento River king salmon is on your bucket list give guide Dave Jacobs a call direct at 1(530)646-9110. Let us show you the reason we have been in business guiding thousands of clients from around the world to the best Sacramento River king salmon fishing since 1985.
