Weather: The weather is starting to cool off.

 

Clarity of water: The water seems to be very clear near the Boat Docks. Once you get past the

 

Lower Narrows it is still clear, about a 15-foot visibility.

 

Temperature of lake: 60 Degrees F.

 

Hot spots: Swallow Bay and the Dam.

 

Favorite lures for Bass: 1/4 oz Panther Martin Spinners

Striped Bass- Anchovies

Catfish- Anchovies

Trout- Worms, Chartreuse Garlic Power Bait, and Kastmaster Lures.

 

Fish Plants: No fish plants this week but we had the following plants last week

11-11-20 1000 lbs. Mt. Lassen

11-12-20 2600 lbs. DFG (Department of Fish and Game)

 

Our own Dr. Al Hurwitz reported:

 

Al Hurwitz and a friend, t Abel Wong, trolled the lake on 11/19/2020 and came up with a moderate number of Smallmouth Bass, a Largemouth Bass , and a Striped Bass. The hits were almost all in the afternoon, many along the western shore opposite Swallow Bay. The fish were caught with 1/4 oz Panther Martin Spinners trolled at a depth of 20 feet below the surface in 30 foot water columns. We were using lead core line and had to increase the lure depth from 15 to 20 feet below the surface before the fish struck. Scent was applied to the lures. All fish were released. The water was quite clear with a surface temperature of around 60 degrees. The wind was light and variable.

We caught no Rainbow Trout. We are still working in a transition period between Bass and Trout seasons. I expect trolling for Rainbows will improve in the weeks ahead with additional

plants and cooler temperatures.
