We continue to put in full days on Shasta Lake chasing big brown's and rainbow's this week.  Fishing has been fun and we're landing big fish every day.  As always, Shasta can be tough in the winter, but we're doing waht we can to provide as much action as possible.  We're finding most of our bites from 10-20' down and trolling mostly at 2.5 mph.  Brad's Kokanee Cut plugs have been really good, but the Trinidad tackle Optimizer Jr's are taking plenty of trout too.  There are still a lot of browns in the rivers above Shasta and I suspect many of the big rainbows as well.  We'll see more and more browns coming back into the lake looking ahead.  The rainbow trout will head up into the rivers continuously until Spring wen they will be done spawning and will fall back down into the lake around May.  We'll be concentrating on the browns by the end of February, making March and April predominantly a brown trout show.  We catch big browns most of the year, but March-April tend to produce our biggest numbers of big browns on the days they want to bite.  If you're interested in a trophy brown trout fishing trip on Shasta Lake this year, consider calling Jaynie sooner than later at (530) 510-2925 to get March and April trip dates.  Half of my schedule is already filled for April, but March currently has lots of available dates.  These trips are best suited for our dedicated anglers and can provide some truly amazing trophy class brown trout.  The action is generally slow paced, but our fish are worth the wait in between bites.  Our 24' boat is covered and has a heater to keep everyone comfortable during their day on Shasta Lake this winter season.  Thank you!
