Record bass top weekly big fish list

Big bass take the spotlight in this week’s big fish list.

 


Kevin Miranda of Sacramento set a Camanche Lake record with an 18.17 pound largemouth.

 

Malcom Fey of Windsor may have landed a lake record smallmouth bass at Quarry Lakes in Fremont when he caught a 5.7 pounder with a prince nymph from his float tube.

 


Here are the other notable catches:

Sal Viento of Lodi landed a 25 pound salmon on the El Dorado (Berkeley) while trolling off Muir Beach.

 


Off the central coast: Toni Rees of Coalinga caught a 21 pound ling cod at Cape San Martin on the Endeavor out of Morro Bay ... David Salceda of Vandenberg caught a 15 pound ling cod off Cambria on the Endeavor out of Morro Bay ... Ryan Hopper of Ivanhoe caught a 15 pound ling cod from the Endeavor out of Morro Bay.

 


Big catfish came in at a number of foothill and Bay Area lakes.

 

Rynon Catris of Sacramento used a gold Kastmaster at Lake Amador to hook an 18.59 pound catfish ... Jake Crigger caught a 15.6 pound cat using a worm in the middle of Amador ... Paul Jones of Rodeo pulled a 22 pound catfish from Scow Canyon in San Pablo Reservoir ... Ron Hodgson was using worms from his float tube when he caught a 19.12 pound catfish at Contra Loma Reservoir in Antioch ... Jack Antrim took a 10 pound catfish from Quarry Lakes while trolling with a Rainbow Runner.


There were big trout reported, too.

 

At Convict Lake, Brittney Lavahne of Riverside netted a 7.13 pound rainbow using a nightcrawler/Power Bait combo … Amanda Dominguez from Cypress caught a 7.1 pounder fishing at the inlet with a nightcrawler/marshmallow combo … Justin Herrington of Huntington Beach nailed a 6.8 pound rainbow with a nightcrawler at the inlet.


San Pablo Reservoir produced two big trout. Madeleine Keiser of Alameda caught a 7.7 pounder in Scow Canyon with a lure. James Stoker trolled for a 6.01 pound trout.

At Del Valle, James Mauzey caught a 9 pound rainbow from Swallow Bay with Power Bait.

The 12th annual Bridgeport Fish Enhancement trout tourney last weekend drew 74 paid entrants. Winners were:
